After almost three years of planning and construction, all three spans of the new Sanibel Causeway are now open. Built at a cost of $137 million dollars, the new bridge replaces the deteriorated structure that brought visitors and residents to and from the islands for forty-four years. A bit controversial at times, the general consensus now is that the bridge looks great and will improve the flow of traffic on and off the islands. Locals and visitors alike can begin keenly anticipating the new season at The Schoolhouse Theater. With the opening show less than one week away fans can now begin to make reservations for the show times of their choice. As in the past, this season offers a variety of shows that will surely entice the singer, dancer and comedian in all of us. Although Sanibel may be some distance from the bright lights of the big city, The Schoolhouse Theater truly shines with its talented performers - both musically and comedically.
